1. Choose based on what you need

If you want a photo created or edited, start with ChatGPT's image tool. For writing, try Claude first as a starting recommendation, then judge the draft. Both can help with emails, dashboards and research; your context and connected tools matter. The guide uses Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra as the model names, with access depending on your plan.

2. The choice chart

Photo or image edit: ChatGPT. Email: try Claude first, judged on facts and tone; both can draft. Dashboard or code: either with code/file tools, judged on whether it works. Research: either with current source access, judged on sources and constraints. App workflow: the one with the right connections. This is a starting choice, not a measured winner table.

3. Try an everyday task

Use sample-week.txt for a dashboard or client-email-brief.txt for an email. Give the same brief to both apps if you can. For the photo prompt, supply your own image and use an available image tool. The kit does not claim a generated output or benchmark we have not produced.

4. Keep the version you can actually use

Use output-scorecard.csv. Check required facts, the requested format, functionality and corrections needed. Record total time including review. A polished answer that misses a deadline or invents a promise does not pass.

5. Make the instructions reusable

Once a prompt works on your actual task, keep the brief and checklist. Change the input next time while preserving the desired output. Do not assume a model name alone guarantees the result.

The exact prompts

Turn a messy week into a task dashboard

Use the attached sample-week.txt, or my own notes. Build a simple weekly task dashboard with Today, Waiting and Done. Give each task a next action and deadline. Keep missing deadlines as unknown. Use the notes to set status; never mark unfinished work as done. Add checkboxes that move completed tasks to Done and a download-backup button. Return one HTML file I can open. Use no account connections. Label sample data. Check that every commitment appears once and test the controls.

Write the client email I have been putting off

Use the attached client-email-brief.txt. Write a warm client email under 100 words. Explain that I cannot deliver this Friday and offer Tuesday instead. Keep it direct, helpful and confident. Use only the facts in the brief. Do not invent an excuse, discount or other promise. Include a subject line and one clear question. Leave it as a draft.

Make a usable image from my photo

Use the photo I attach. Soften the background while keeping my face, expression, pose, clothing and natural skin texture unchanged. Keep the original lighting and colors. Crop it to portrait 4:5 with room above my head for a headline. Do not add text or change my identity. Generate the edited image, then inspect it against my reference. If your app has no image-editing tool, tell me rather than substitute a text description.

Bonus: create a new image

Make a 4:5 swim-bag flatlay: swimsuit, towel, goggles. Neutral background. Soft daylight. No text.
